LARGEMOUTH BASS

Very common to Bangs Lake can be easily caught . Suitable Live baits include Golden Roaches, Large Fatheads, Night Crawlers, and Large Leeches. Best live bait presentation is suspended over weed tops with a slip bobber. Can be caught anywhere on the lake.

Smallmouth Bass

Not common to Bangs Lake numbers are spotty at best, However the ones caught have been very nice sized.

Walleye

Common to Bangs lake numbers are good and the quality is good! Bangs Lake Walleye are generally girthy. Best Live Bait presentation is big minnows or medium roaches  Lindy Rigged and drifted slow in 18 - 21  F,O,W,  along the north shore bringing up the saddle between the 2 bays,

Northern Pike

Crappie

Catfish

Very common to Bangs Lake can be easily caught . Suitable Baits include Chicken Livers, Large Golden Roaches, and Night Crawlers. Best bait presentation is suspended 3-5 feet deep with a bobber and drifted at night when water is warm. Can be caught anywhere on the lake.

Perch

Bullhead

Sunfish/ Shell cracker

Rock Bass / Warmouth

Longnose Gar

Somewhat common to Bangs Lake  Difficult to catch with hook and line. Suitable Baits include Chicken Livers, Large Golden Roaches, and Night Crawlers. Best bait presentation is suspended just below the surface with a bobber and drifted at night when water is warm. Can be caught anywhere on the lake. These guys hang out right on the surface at night and have been doing so on Bangs Lake for some 10,000 years now. This fish is a living Dinosaur.

Musky

New to Bangs Lake Rumor has it that someone released one or more naturals in the lake which spawned with our Northern population and for the last two seasons we have been seeing Tiger Muskies. These have all been juveniles so far but with the amount of forage Bangs Lake has to offer these guys, I cant wait for Fall 2013!!!! Hopefully they will only eat the Perch!!
